A Letter From Our President & Founder
Dear Family,
Welcome to ShayPing Foundations.
This organization was born from the deep love and lasting impact of my maternal grandmother—my Granny. She has been one of the most instrumental figures in shaping the foundation of my life. From babysitting me as a child to bringing me along for "Bring Your Child to Work" days, from our cherished trips downtown during Christmastime to see the Marshall Fields windows to dropping me off for high school shadow days, Granny has always been a constant—guiding, nurturing, and cheering me on.
Even now, she continues to pour into me. She reminds me to seek God in times of trouble and to thank Him in times of joy. Her unwavering faith, strength, and support have been my anchor.
“Shay” is the nickname my mother lovingly calls her, and “P” represents the first letter of her last name. Together, they form ShayPing—a name that not only honors her legacy but also celebrates the many others who poured into me during my formative years.
My Granny always told me, “Stand for something or you will fall for anything.” This organization is my way of standing—for my belief in the promise, potential, and power of the next generation. It’s a tribute to those who supported me early in life and a heartfelt commitment to doing the same for others.
ShayPing Foundations is more than just a name—it’s a legacy in motion. And most especially, it is my way of honoring my Granny’s enduring legacy.
With gratitude,
Dr. Taylor J. Cox
